cOAlition S appoints Advisory Panel to further develop the Journal Comparison Service

15/03/2023

An Advisory Panel – comprising publishers, librarians, library consortia and funders – has been set up to help cOAlition S to further develop the Journal Comparision Service (JCS).

Specifically, this Panel will review the JCS Frameworks (Information Power and FOAA) and make recommendations on how these might be further developed to ensure that the price and service data is as useful as possible for those who procure publishing services whilst remaining deliverable by the publishers who are asked to provide these data.

In addition, this Panel will advise cOAlition S on any additional modifications to the JCS service, which would make it more useful to all stakeholders and actively promote its use amongst the relevant stakeholder groups.

All active users of the JCS were invited to apply to join the Panel. From the applications received, the cOAlition S office appointed those representing different stakeholders in the scholarly communication ecosystem. The Panel will meet for the first time in May 2023.
